prayerful journey

We are headed to Macon today to begin the surgical process...but before I explain my process I want to ya'll to petition the LORD on one my dear friend's Craig's behalf. Craig found out in late October that she had Hodgkin's Lymphoma in her shoulder and chest. She is 21 years old and one of my best dearest friends. We lived across the hall from one another freshmen year and have been inseparable ever since. The Lord is and has done a MIGHTY MIGHTY work in Craig's heart the last few years and her faith is something I admire most about her. Her loving, bubbly personality is contagious and I miss her everyday. She found out two weeks ago that there is no sign of cancer in her body anymore HUGE PRAISE!! But she had to finish her chemo and radiation treatment. She has one more chemo treatment and then she starts radiation. Yesterday Craig started running a really high fever of 102-103 and was sent to the hospital. The doctors think that her port (where she receives the chemo) is infected and they are going to have to remove it today. This is good news so Craig won't feel as bad but now this will delay her treatment process and make treatments a little bit more complicated without the port. Please pray for her surgery and wisdom from the doctor's and especially Craig's heart that she will remained positive, faithful and trusting that the Lord is in control. Please pray for peace for Craig and her family and for them to feel how close Jesus is to them. Thank you so much.
I am headed to Macon this afternoon and meeting Mimi, Matt and Laura for dinner:) Tomorrow is my PET scan and then I have the weekend to rest and spend time with my boyfriend and family. Monday morning we begin the pre-opp process including blood work and paper work. On Tues. the 1st I go in for a scan where they are going to inject a radioactive dye into my mole and that will travel down to whichever lymph-node that they need to remove. We are praying that the lymph-node is located either on my neck or behind my ear. The shot process will be pretty painful so just pray for as little pain as possible:)
Wednesday is the day of the surgery...early that morning the doctors will read the dye reading and see which lymph-node to take out and then preform the surgery at noon. They will remove the mole and cut 2 cm from each angle and remove the lymph-node to send off to get tested. We will know ten days after the surgery if the results come back positive or negative. I will be able to get my stitches out Feb. 8th and hopefully head back to Africa mid Feb!!! The Lord is SO faithful and has me in the palm of His hand.
I wanted to encourage you with some scripture that my dear dear friend Christine gave me:

Isaiah 51:11
"And the ransomed of the LORD shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness, joy and sorrow and sighing shall flee away."

Isaiah 35:10
"And the ransomed of the LORD shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away."
The LORD gives us these verses twice as a reminder of His promise, I am trusting Him that He is the Jesus who will heal me and return me back to Zambia so that I can proclaim HIS name to the nations. Love you all so much!! Thank you for standing in the gap for me and petitioning Jesus on my behalf.
In awe of His mercy and love,
Rach
